Purpose: To provide Candlewyck swimmers the opportunity to grow as leaders, while learning how to be a summer league swim coach.

Description

• Be a registered swimmer on the team.
• Will assist in setting up and taking down Swim Meets.
• Will attend at least one full practice a week; 5:00 - 7:30pm practices, Sunday - Thursday
• Will be assigned an age group to assist with at meets for the purpose of helping line up relays
• Attendance is expected at your own practice as well as those assigned to your internship. Any absences need to be cleared by Preston prior.

Benefits

• All hours served would count towards “community service” towards a college application or school program.
• Will be considered first for any assistant coach openings during future seasons.

Ideal Candidates

• Be a 7th grader or older in the fall of 2026
• Have a desire to be considered for future assistant coaching opportunities at Candlewyck
• Have a passion for working with children, especially the 3-6 year old range
• Are patient, well-mannered and trust worthy
• Display exemplary character
  • Understand that they are role models on the pool deck and around the neighborhood

• Candidates will have until April 30th to submit their application
• Swim Team Board will review all applications and determine this year’s interns
